Reading

We are learning to read to self. This builds our reading stamina and helps us to get better at reading. We also have lots of fun reading!

Success Criteria
  • I read quietly
  • I concentrate on the book
  • I stay in space
  • I read the whole time
  • I get started straight away

Reflection

I really like:  Reading quietly.

I think I need to practice:  Remember to get more than one book.

Brodie, you are working so hard on your reading and do so much practising. Remember to stay in one place and read the whole time during read to self, this will help build your reading stamina. Taking 4 or 5 books to read will make sure you don't run out of books.

Swimming

We are learning to build our confidence in and around the water. We practise our swimming skills and love to show off our new tricks.

This is what I have been practising:
Safe entry into the pool (1/4 turn entry)

Submerge and blow bubbles

Float on my back (Starfish)

Reflection:

I am really proud of: lying on the noodle and kicking.

It is tricky when: I had to pick up the objects with my hand because I don't have a lot of breath.

The next thing I want to learn is: Go under the water and do some tricks.
Brodie, you should be very proud of how you have grown in confidence in the water. At the start od the year it was very tricky for you to get in the water and the other kids playing and splashing made you a little scared. Now you have shown how you can use a noodle and a flutterboard and kick on your tummy. Perhaps next time you can practise using a 1/4 turn to enter the pool safely instead of using the ladder for support.

Handwriting

Brodie is thinking hard about how to form an e correctly. "Great job Brodie" say Kerri and Deb. "We can see you are practising. Your e's are all facing the right way!"😃
